She has held senior leadership roles at the world-leading UK conservatoires LAMDA and Mountview, as well as running courses, teaching, leading audition panels and directing over 10 productions for the Royal Central School of Speech and Drama over the past 30 years. She has also taught and directed at the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama, Rose Bruford and Manchester Metropolitan University. Debbie has helped generations of actors prepare for professional training and careers in theatre, film and television. She works with young actors at all stages of their development, supporting them to build strong technique, confidence and individuality. Most recently, Debbie has returned to London after three years as Head of Acting at L’Oltrarno in Florence, Italy, part of the National Theatre of Tuscany. Alongside her extensive teaching career, she is also a professional theatre director, with productions at major UK and international venues including the Hampstead Theatre, Bristol Old Vic and Sheffield Crucible, as well as national and international tours, many of them world premieres. In addition to teaching acting at LAMDA, RCSSD and Mountview, she has directed over seventy productions and final-year shows, including showcases in New York, Los Angeles, London and Rome. She brings exceptional expertise in preparing both student and professional actors for auditions, showreels and roles, combining rigorous classical training with contemporary practice. She is known for her clear, detailed and supportive approach, helping each student translate their unique background, imagination and potential into confident, compelling auditions.
